Why I always tell my patients that " To predict sick by checking your feet "?

In our life, most people are wanting to have a healthy body and try to get better. However, not everyone can achieve this state. Some people are very young but already have imbalances in their bodies.

All different body symptoms and discomforts have a relative impact on our daily life and reflect how our internal organs look like. Taking care of our body regularly is the most important thing.

The changes in our feet reflect the health of our inside body.

Why do I say this?

When we have a healthy body, the skin of our feet will look ruddy and feel warm. We will not feel fatigued or discomfort when we walk.  When there have some imbalances in our body,  we will find some changes in our feet.

Low foot temperature and feel cold on our feet.

Observing the temperature of the feet can understand the health of the body. If you always feel cold on your feet, you need to pay more attention to it. This situation also reflects the lack of body Qi and blood, especially in women and the elderly, which are more likely to occur.

 

Leg cramps

Some people will experience leg cramps when sleeping at night.  The cramps could be a  calcium deficiency in your body.

Swelling of the big toe

Observing the changes of the toes, you can also get a general understanding of your health. If you find swelling of the big toe, you need to pay more attention. It could be gout or spleen chi deficiency if you have other digestive symptoms. 

Hurt when I walk

If you find abnormal pain in your feet when walking, you need to pay more attention to the arch of your feet, it could be a local blood circulation problem caused by plantar fasciitis or kidney deficiency.

Here are a couple of tips on taking care of your feet and legs to increase the blood flow and promote blood circulation, feel better, live longer.

 

1. Before going to bed, it is good to apply some acupressure to the feet and massage the legs. Doing so is better for promoting blood flow in the feet and legs.

 

2. It is also very important to improve the activity of the feet and regular exercise can accelerate the vitality of the feet.

 

3. Paying attention to the foot-washing. Washing your feet frequently and change the shoes frequently. Do this to prevent the feet from being affected by bacteria. A foot bath can also help to warm up the meridians on our legs and feet and help with the circulation of our entire body.

 

4. When it is cold, it is recommended that everyone wear socks. Many young people will ignore wearing socks.  In traditional Chinese medicine theory, we think the cold is easy penetrating from the feet. Once the cold penetrates through the feet, it can travel up to our body.

 

To predict sickness by checking your feet, the feet can be called a barometer of the body. For some manifestations, we still need to know in advance but taking care of our feet is always good for our health.
